Filtering, Faceting & Drilling Down
Filtering, Faceting & Drilling Down
Faceting
Clicking a value in one chart — say, a region on a bar chart — facets every other connected widget on the page to that selection. Click again to clear it. This is the default interaction in CRM Analytics and needs no configuration.
Explicit filters
Filter widgets (dropdowns, date pickers, toggles) let a viewer set a condition without needing a chart to click on — useful for fields that aren't already charted, like "Fiscal Quarter."
Drilling down
Some charts support drill paths — clicking a bar in "Region" reveals the next level, like "Country," without leaving the chart. Drill paths are configured by the dashboard builder ahead of time.
Clearing selections
A Clear or Reset filters action (often in the top toolbar) removes all facets and filters at once, returning the dashboard to its default view.
